Daniel Gordon’s ‘Strike: An Uncivil War’ has won the Audience Award at Sheffield DocFest! This documentary hears from both picketing miners and police officers who recount their experiences of the Battle of Orgreave – a tragic day that became one of the bloodiest events in post-war Britain. It exposes those who deflected blame from Thatcher’s government onto the strikers themselves.
Preview screenings take place from today on the 40th anniversary of the Battle of Orgreave. A huge congratulations to everyone involved – what a privilege to have mixed this in Theatre 2 at Bleat!
